Premier League: Grab the goals value at the Vitality

PREMIER LEAGUE fanatic Tommy Buckley (@tbuckleythinks) shares his thoughts on early goals ahead of Super Sunday's showdown on the south coast.

Bournemouth v Everton | Sunday 15th September 2019, 14:00 | Sky Sports

Looking at this forthcoming weekend's fixtures in the Premier League, the match-up of Bournemouth and Everton immediately caught my eye and got me thinking, ‘goals, goals and more goals’.

So far this season the four league games involving Bournemouth have produced 13 goals, all four matches have seen Both Teams to Score backers land profit with three also breaking the Over 2.5 Goals barrier.

Everton's last two competitive matches produced 11 goals with a 3-2 win against Wolves and a 4-2 victory against Lincoln; again rewarding punters in both the BTTS and Over 2.5 Goals columns.

When you take a deeper look at the recent Premier League clashes between the Cherries and the Toffees, you’ll see that all the results and statistics suggest goals flow regularly. The past eight Premier League encounters between the pair have produced the following scorelines: 2-1, 2-1, 6-3, 1-0, 2-1, 3-3, 2-2 and 2-0.

That's 31 goals in eight meetings at an average of 3.88 goals per-game – six saw Over 2.5 Goals, six also featured Both Teams To Score and four returned Both Teams To Score and a winner.

The betting angle

Bournemouth and Everton are clearly two sides set up to attack and be confident, both have their strengths in the offence and that should create an open, entertaining match where the goal opportunities flow and history suggests those goal opportunities will get converted.

Over 2.5 Goals for Bournemouth vs Everton is available at 4/5 (Marathon) and I think that is fair enough given the statistics highlighted, and given the likely profile of the game. I'll be hugely surprised if the goals don't flow in this one.

If 8/11 is too short then other ways of approaching this are perhaps Correct Score options with 2-1, 3-1 or 2-2 worth considering. Bournemouth 2-1 is a 10/1 shot and Everton 2-1 is around 9/1. Or you could cover the Both Teams To Score and Team To Win possibilities by considering the 4/1 on Bournemouth and 3/1 for Everton. Alternatively, there's the  Team To Win & Over 2.5 Goals pokes with Bournemouth at 10/3 and Everton at 9/4.

The statistics for Both Teams To Score are really good but that's only a general 4/7 shot – still that might well be good enough for those of you who play that particular market.

They are the trends and betting options I feel are worth considering for the match on Sunday;  it should be an open, entertaining attack minded match and I'll be surprised if there aren't goals to enjoy, Over 2.5 goals will be my personal main play in the match and I'll also cover either side to win 2-1 with small bets.
