CALLUM JONES (@Goaldust) talks us through his favourite fancies from the non-league scene this weekend.

Boreham Wood v Kidderminster | Saturday 15:00

Poor old Kidderminster. They’ve lost their last eight straight and have scored only three goals in the process.

They’ve played 16 games on the road this season in all competitions and their record reads W0-D5-L11. They’re six points adrift at the bottom of the league, and a fairly hefty 16 points from safety.

I think it’s probably fair to assume they may be relegated this season. But this is football – anything can happen. They travel to Boreham Wood this weekend, whom have been pretty stingy at home recently.

They’ve conceded only two goals in their last six games at Meadow Park and there’s been Over 2.5 Goals in only four of their 16 home games this campaign.

Wood may be in a spot of bother themselves at the foot of the table but they’ve notched respectable draws against Tranmere, Woking, Cheltenham and Eastleigh recently and were only beaten by the one goal at Forest Green. So they’ve certainly not disgraced themselves in the last couple of months.

Boss Luke Garrard will have picked this game out as a must-win if they are to survive their debut season in the National League and a win could see them move out of the relegation places, which could prove to be a huge confidence booster ahead of a couple of difficult trips to Grimsby and Braintree.

Any side who play Kidderminster at home at the moment should be a short price, and I’m surprised the Wood are as big as 5/6 to win this one.

I wouldn’t put anyone off backing that but I like the enhanced option of a home win and Under 2.5 Goals at 11/5 with Betfair. Boreham just do not concede at the moment so I fancy one might well be enough to bag them all three points.

Wrexham v Forest Green Rovers | Saturday 15:00

Many people thought Cheltenham were about to runaway with the league coming up to Christmas but Forest Green have ceased any walkover talk with some sublime recent performances which has propelled them above the Robins into top spot.

FGR’s recent form has been astonishing. Since a defeat at home to Tranmere in October, they’ve W10-D2-L1. Granted, much of that is down to their imperious home record but they’ve picked things up away from home and have lost just once in the league since October – a 4-1 defeat to struggling Torquay on Boxing Day. I think we can forgive them that with a few extra mince pies and Sherries in their systems…

In contrast, it must be absolutely infuriating to be a Wrexham fan. After winning five from six towards the end of the calendar year, they’ve lost six of their last eight in all competitions and have slipped away from the play-off places.

They’re very much a Jekyll and Hyde side in their own back yard – you just never know which side will turn up. They bagged a much needed home win over Lincoln a fortnight ago but lost three straight games at the Racecourse Ground before that and they should find the league-leaders a very tricky proposition on Saturday.

By no means do I think the away side are a slam dunk in this one but as with Gateshead in midweek, the value very much lies with the visitors. I’m not sure there’s a better team in the division at the moment so the 9/5 (BetVictor) about a FGR win is too good to ignore.
