National League – Rovers to Cook up a storm on the south coast

Dover v Tranmere | Tuesday 17th April 2018, 19:45

Tranmere are getting my backing again on Tuesday night…

Rovers dominated Aldershot at the weekend to make it six wins in seven – five of those victories have been by at least a two-goal margin – and a win here will put pressure on league leaders Macclesfield, who only managed a draw at home to the ever-improving Leyton Orient at the weekend.

Andy Cook failed to score at the weekend – despite having a few decent chances to add to his 24 goals he's already bagged – but strike-partner James Norwood bagged a brace to take his tally to 19 for the camapign.

Dover sit one place off the play-offs but have started to wobble a bit recently with three losses in their last four all coming against sides below them in the league. They do have a decent home record but I feel Tranmere have too much quality for them here, especially if recent performances are anything to go by.

I'm keeping it simple with the away win at a decent odds-against price at 34/25 with Marathon. I also can't ignore Cook to score at anytime at 6/5 with Bet365. He's chasing the Golden Boot and is in the form of his life – I just can't see him going two games without a goal.

Hartlepool v Leyton Orient | Tuesday 17th April 2018, 19:45

Another team who has impressed me recently is Leyton Orient – they're unbeaten in five, with three wins and a draw against league leaders Macclesfield in their last four.

Justin Edinburgh is keen that his team keep pushing right to the end of the season and won't let them slack off as he feels momentum for next season is vital.

Hartlepool sit just two places above the relegation places but I think they've just about done enough to avoid the drop. They are winless in three now – losing at home to two teams who have been struggling near the foot of the table, including a 1-0 loss to rock-bottom Guiseley.

The O's can be backed in the Draw No Bet market at 23/25 with Marathon and that looks more than reasonable.

Best Bets

Dover v Tranmere – Tranmere to win (34/25 Marathon)

Dover v Tranmere – Andy Cook to score at anytime (6/5 bet365)

Hartlepool v Leyton Orient – Leyton Orient draw no bet (23/25 Marathon)
