National League: Cards can keep Whites at bay

NON-LEAGUE expert Paul Maddison (@LouthBigDog) shares his best bet from the 3pm Bank Holiday Monday's action in the National League.

Dover v Woking | Monday 26th August 2019, 15:00

Both of these two teams have started the season well. Dover have won four of their six games, whilst Woking have been the surprise package so far, for me. The visitors sit top of the table after picking up five wins and conceding just three goals.

The Cards’ form has been particularly impressive as their last four games have come against sides who should be battling at the top end of the table. A big plus for Woking is that they have two strikers, in Jake Hyde and Dave Tarpey, capable of scoring plenty of goals this season, providing they can stay fit.

Dover are a best price of 6/5 to win here and that looks far too short, to me. The two defeats the Whites have suffered have both come at home. I'd much rather be with Woking to continue their 100% record away and the 5/2 looks very tempting. I'm going to play it a bit safer though and take the 157/100 with Marathon on Woking in the Draw No Bet market.

About Author

I first got the taste for betting when I was quite young, every year I would pick a horse for the Grand National and my Dad would go to the bookies and put my £1 each way bet on. As soon as I could get away with it I was in the bookies every Saturday afternoon searching the football coupons and putting on stupidly big accas. Now enjoy betting mainly singles or small multiples, usually sticking to the English leagues. I don't favour any particular market, but rarely watch a game without having small first scorer bet for a bit of fun. I've got 3 boys which take up most of my time, but luckily they enjoy going to watch football and days at the races. I'm a life long Grimsby Town fan, one of a few that has seen some ups as well as all the downs.
