The one Premier League game on Sunday comes from West Yorkshire as Leeds host Liverpool in what should be an entertaining encounter.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side are famed for their front foot approach, but they’ve had a slightly underwhelming start to the campaign and are yet to win. Their task isn’t any easier as a strong Liverpool side come to town.
Leeds’ record against the big guns leaves a fair bit to be desired, especially from a defensive standpoint. They don’t change approach no matter who the opponent is and it means they can get caught out against the elite sides.
These two met on the first day of last season, a game which ended 4-3 in a fantastic watch, although I don’t expect that many goals there still should be opportunities for both sides given the way they play.
Ultimately though the added quality in forward areas could see the visitors edge out a fun affair. Liverpool to win and both teams to score therefore appeals at 2/1 (Bet365).
There’s a standout prop play I’m keen on too. Joel Matip is chalked up at 5/6 (SkyBet) to have a shot in the game and that looks too good to turn down. The rangy centre half has had 1, 3 and 3 shots this season and anyone who has watched Leeds will know how vulnerable they look from set pieces.
I can’t ignore the 4/1 about him to have 2 or more shots, nor the 14/1 for 3 or more with the same form given his strong record so far. Most eyes will be on Virgil Van Dijk but the value is certainly with his partner.
Both Burnley centre halves registered a shot a fortnight ago, as have Harry Maguire and Michael Keane this season.
