Newport come into this on the back of a 2-0 success in the first leg, despite the awful cliche that 2-0 is the most dangerous scoreline to hold, it puts them in a terrific position.

That being said, they haven’t been brilliant away from home of late and can lose and still go through to the final. They look quite a short price considering that and Forest Green are known for piling the pressure on at home.

I’m happy to favour the hosts on the -0.25 asian handicap here – even if it ends in a draw we’d get get half our stake returned. FGR welcomed back key duo Nicky Cadden and Jamille Matt back to the bench in the first leg and both should start here. Matt is the tom scorer for the Green Devils whereas Cadden has the joint most assists.

There’s a huge looking price on Newport goalkeeper Tom King to be booked too, given they’re 2-0 up we could expect plenty of time wasting from the visitors and King was booked twice last season. 16/1 on offer will drop in play and looks worthy of a few quid.

About Author

I was first interested in the betting industry by doing the odd coupon at 18 - when I’d see a team at odds I didn’t expect it sparked my curiosity as to why that was. I’d go and research everything around that club: form, team news, manager quotes, and try give my own price in an aim to out-do the bookies. I personally enjoy punting on the Football League and European competitions. I like to diversify what markets I bet on so sometimes it’s outrights, goals, player cards etc. The Football League angle comes from being an avid Bradford City fan which has its ups (reaching a League Cup final and beating Chelsea in the FA Cup) and its downs (The entirety of 2018). Hobbies of mine include playing football, cross country running, travelling and playing Football Manager.
