GAVIN MURPHY’S (@GamePlanGavin) back for more A-League action from Down Under on Friday morning.

Adelaide United v Sydney FC | Friday 08.40 | BT Sport 1

Australian A-League action gets the weekend up and running as Sydney travel to Adelaide.

It took nine long, trying weeks but the hosts belatedly broke their season duck and climbed off the foot of the A-League ladder by downing Perth Glory 1-0 last Sunday.

With a short five-day turnaround from that Glory clash which was played in searing heat, backing up that effort will be no easy task for the Reds, made harder still by the fact Friday's opponent is Sydney FC.

The Sky Blues, who ousted Adelaide from last season's championship race in the semi-finals, are around the mark again, despite not yet really hitting their straps.

Referee Strebre Delovski gets the gig for this one. Generally, he is an official who likes to get his cards out.

The past three meetings between these two teams had cards totals of 7-6-7.

At the time of writing, only Bet365's line of Over 5.5 cards is up at 6/5. Given the history of recent meetings and a favourable referee, it is a line worth supporting at odds-against.

About Author

I first got interested in gambling through my cousin. He's a professional gambler and got me hooked as a teenager when you had to pay the 9% tax. Who remembers that?! These days I prefer to specialise on one market rather than spread myself too thinly. Hence my love of cards! Hopefully I can make others a few bob in the process of sharing my bets on WeLoveBetting. On a personal note I love most sports especially cricket, rugby and NFL. I support Tottenham and all things Welsh and outside of sport I enjoy reading autobiographies particularly with a glass of good wine!
