CARD KING Gavin Murphy (@GamePlanGavin) shares his bookings verdict on the League One play-off final from Wembley between Bradford and Millwall.
Bradford v Millwall | Saturday 15:00 | Sky Sports
Bradford and Millwall lock horns at Wembley on Saturday and SkyBet have made a major mistake.
The Bantams v the Lions is a game I've been targeting all week and I was amazed to see SkyBet offering evens on the Londoners collecting the most cards. To give some context, William Hill have Millwall at 8/13 and I agree with them.
Thirty-four year-old Simon Hooper from Whiltshire is a pretty unremarkable appointment averaging 3.60 cards per-game in all competitions in 2016/17.
Head-to-head
In the previous meetings this season (both 1-1 draws) Millwall ‘won' the card battle 3-2 on each occasion. Additionally, the Lions have received most cards in the last six head-to-heads by an aggregate of 12 to 10.
Most importantly though, this season Millwall average 1.76 cards per-game in league matches. Compare this to Bradford who averaged 1.07 per-game, which was the lowest of any team in the division.
In 180 minutes against Fleetwood in the semi-finals Bradford collected zero cards. In contrast, Millwall revived five yellow cards in their two matches against Scunthorpe.
In short, the Yorkshire outfit are far more disciplined.
The tie does come into this market but I don't think we can factor that into our thoughts. This looks a standout bet to me and I'm snapping up the even-money on offer with SkyBet that Millwall collect the most cards.
