GAVIN Horsfall (@GHorsfall) highlights three excellently-priced Football League goalscorers from the weekend coupon.

Walsall v Burton | Saturday 15.00

More than a touch of speculation about putting up Rico Henry (19/1 Paddy Power) for Walsall this weekend, even though my ‘back of a fag packet’ notes say that goals are more likely than the 8/11 for Under 2.5 Goals suggests when Burton visit The Bescot.

We can’t even be certain Henry starts for Dean Smith’s side – the 18-year-old sat out the 0-0 draw with Wigan last weekend only a few days after signing a new contract with the Saddlers and just a couple of days after scoring the winner against Scunthorpe.

Henry looks a great prospect operating in the left-wing-back role in Smith’s 3-5-2, while he started further forward in the 4-5-1 employed at Peterborough.

There’s every chance there’ll be space to exploit out wide against Burton’s 4-2-3-1 and even with the uncertainty here he looks a cracking price to add to his tally of two goals already.

Sheffield United v Rochdale | Saturday 15.00

I imagine goalscorer notebooks with the name Chris Basham (11/1 Bet365) are in short supply, although despite scoring just seven goals in 130-odd appearances, it’s a name that keeps popping up on my lists and with Sheffield Utd looking full of goals at the moment, Basham gets a write up.

Basham is very much the holding midfielder in Nigel Adkins 4-4-2 but he’s a target for Blades’ corners. He was a definite threat in the 2-2 draw at Bradford (a key factor in James Meredith’s own goal) before opening his account for the season in the next game against Doncaster.

Saturday’s opponents Rochdale (where Basham spent half a season on-loan back in the day) have looked more than a little vulnerable the last fortnight.

Mansfield v Newport County | Saturday 15.00

Mansfield centre-back pairing Krystian Pearce and Ryan Tafazolli have drawn some decent praise in recent times as the Stags kept out free-scoring Plymouth and reduced fancied Luton to a second-half penalty in the middle of further clean sheets against Stevenage and Crawley.

Both have contributed at the other end of the pitch as well and it’s 6’4’’ Taffazolli (10/1 Paddy Power) who gets the nod here.

The 24-year-old could easily have had added to his tally in last week’s 4-3 win at Dagenham, missing a couple of gilt-edge chances from set pieces, he could get opportunities to make amends when struggling Newport visit Field Mill on Saturday.

Best Bets

Walsall v Burton – Rico Henry to score at anytime (19/1 Paddy Power)

Sheffield United v Rochdale – Chris Basham to score at anytime (11/1 Bet365)

Mansfield v Newport County – Ryan Tafazolli to score at anytime (10/1 Paddy Power)
