A-League: Saturday morning shoot-out on the cards

A-LEAGUE analyst Andrew Francis (@ALeagueAndy) has taken his expert eye to the weekend’s action from Down Under, spotting two eye-catching selections on Saturday morning.

Melbourne Victory v Adelaide United | Saturday 8th December 2018, 08:50 | BT Sport

Melbourne Victory looked in great form last weekend and it’s hard to look past them again this week as they have home advantage against Adelaide United.

Victory have won four on the bounce, and whilst Adelaide aren’t in terrible form themselves, it will take a huge effort to beat the hosts with the likes of Keisuke Honda controlling games. Melbourne will be looking to pick up a healthy win and leapfrog Perth Glory to the top of the league, if only for a couple of hours.

The value here lies in the Asian Handicap market. Melbourne Victory -1 sits at 22/13 (188BET – 1.69 in decimals – at the moment, great odds for what should be a fairly comfortable win for the home side.

Perth Glory v Melbourne City | Saturday 8th December 2018, 11:00 | BT Sport

This should be a great contest with both sides having a real reason to go out and battle for the win.

Perth let themselves down last weekend with a disappointing draw against Wellington Phoenix and they’ll be looking to maintain their position at the top of the table, whilst Melbourne City have had a tumultuous few weeks with arguments within the camp at all levels.

With that in mind both sides should be pushing for the win and this should lead to a very open game. The Over 2.5 goals market looks healthy at 5/6 (Marathon), whilst I’d also have a little look at Over 3.5 Goals which currently sits at 21/10 (888).

There should be plenty of goals and that should be good for the punters!
