SCOTTISH football bible Willie Duncan (@Willie_Duncan) shares his best bet from the Scottish scene this weekend, focussing on Friday night’s encounter from Inverness.

Inverness v Dundee United | Friday 19.45 | BT Sport 1

Football fans everywhere have had their hearts warmed this week as Leicester City secured the English Premier League title.

Claudio Ranieri's men pulled off what looked to be “mission impossible” for most of the campaign – with someone suggesting to me on Monday that the Foxes' achievement is the equivalent of Inverness Caledonian Thistle winning the Scottish Premiership.

Unfortunately for John Hughes, it looks as if the Caley Jags are going to fall just short (30+ points) of making it a remarkable double north and south of the border.

There is, however, two crumbs of comfort for ICT fans and players alike – they should pick up another three points on Friday night and they're not Dundee United.

United were plunged into the Championship on Monday night by bitter rivals Dundee – something that won't be forgotten for a long time in the city.

It was no real surprise to see the Terrors go down and the calamitous fashion in which their fate was sealed sums up everything that has gone wrong for the them this term.

Leading 1-0 with just 13 minutes left, United conceded two soft, scruffy goals and lost the match 2-1.

Inverness really should have made the top six this season, but a string of bad results in February and March condemned Hughes' men to a bottom half finish.

In the last few weeks, though, the Caley Jags have found their form again; they've lost just one of their last six games and have picked up impressive wins against Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle (3-1 and 4-1 respectively) since the league split.

Dejected, demoralised and down, Dundee United look like cannon fodder ahead of Friday's clash at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium – and the home side can take full advantage.

The 6/5 (Betfred) quote for ICT to win is supremely generous and there is no doubt that it's a price worth backing.
