Wrighty’s Saturday Goalscorer Lucky 15 | 17th April 2021

Luton vs Watford – Ismaila Sarr (13/2)

Watford’s good luck charm – they haven't been beaten in any of the 10 games the Senegalese has scored this season – winning eight – and like his club he’s in a rich vein of form scoring three in the last two games and four in the four games either side of his injury.

Luton are one of the few sides who can have one eye “on the beach” sitting in the comfort of 13th – while Watford who have 11 wins from their last 13 league games are closing in on an immediate return to the EPL and will move a step closer to that goal with a win here ahead of their trip to the only side above them – Norwich – on Tuesday.

Swansea vs Wycombe – Jamal Lowe (11/2)

Swansea ended a run of four straight defeats which has derailed their automatic promotion bid, by recording back-to-back victories, keeping two clean sheets and bagging five goals which has coincided with Jamal Lowe returning to scoring form.

After a run of seven goals in seven games, the Jamaican striker had a 15-goal drought until scoring his country’s goal in a 4-1 loss to the USA – two more blanks for his club followed before three goals in those last two games.

As we have seen earlier in the season the 26-year-old can be a streak player and he will have no better opportunity to continue that with the visit of the Championship’s bottom side and leakiest defence, shipping 64 goals from there 41 fixtures so far and he scored in the reverse fixture at Adams Park.

Wycombe also have the worst away record in the league whist the Swans are second only to Norwich for points gained at home.

Morecambe vs Oldham (Cole Stockton 9/2)

One of the first criteria for this type of bet is identifying the games which should feature goals – this is on that definitely fits that bill with these two sides sitting first and second for number of games that have had over 2.5 goals in League Two.

Of the scorers on show, and there is quite a few, I have plumped for Cole Stockton who has scored in five of his last ten appearances including on Tuesday night against Scunthorpe and has now scored in four of the last six games at the Globe Arena, as well as getting on the scoresheet in the October reverse fixture.

Barnet vs Aldershot (Josh Rees 13/1)

This price just looks too big to me and so had to complete my selections. Only four players have more National League goals than Josh Rees, who has 12 from 33 appearances for the mid table Shots who have won three of their last four games and come up against a Barnet side that look ripe for the picking.

The Bees are in disarray – they have lost 22 of their 30 fixtures this season, shipping a league high 72 goals, their midweek 0-0 draw halted a run of eight games conceding two or more goals of which they lost seven.

Rees bagged a brace in the midweek win at Weymouth, making it nine goals in his last 12 games, so he is bang in form and should be licking his lips at adding to his tally at The Hive Stadium. It’s also interesting to note he has only been substituted once this campaign, completing the 90 in the remaining 32 fixtures.

Having had a passion for football for as long as I can remember – I’m talking Shoot League Ladders here – one of my first “bets” is still my biggest win. After begging my mum to let me fill in her pools coupon so I could show off my knowledge, eight draws later and a cheque for £11,500 was soon in the post. As a Norwich fan it’s important to have a good grasp of what’s going on in the lower leagues and I also like exploring those less popular leagues to have a delve into any stats-based markets that are available. Right now, I’m particularly enjoying player bets. Outside of sport, I love eating and drinking - maybe a little too much - as well as listening to a varied spectrum of music, both from the comfort of my own home and at festivals.
