Scotland's League One looks like a one-horse race in 2019/20.
Falkirk should be challenging for promotion to the Premiership but after a disastrous season last term find themselves in the third-tier and chasing an immediate return to the Championship. The Bairns are tight 4/6 (Blacktype) favourites to land top honours but should be a safe selection in any outright multples.
Ray McKinnon has kept his role and is rebuilding a squad that should well capable of justifying their odds-on favourites tag. The Falkirk boss has signed 11 players with striker Declan McManus' addition a headline coup considering the forward arrives following a Championship-winning campaign with Ross County.
Below the odds-on favourites
Raith have been at this level for far too long now. Beaten play-off finalists in the past terms, Rovers look likely to be Falkirk's main challengers. However, second spot is probably the best they can hope for.
Airdrie are a side looking to gain promotion after the club decided to switch to full-time football again. The Diamonds have appointed ex-Hibs player Ian Murray as manager and should be set to push Raith for the tag of ‘best of the rest' behind Falkirk.
The seven sides below the aforementioned trio could all stake claims for a potential play-off push, or find themselves fighting relegation. Forfar are probably best-placed for a decent run, although last season's second-place exploits will be hard to match against professional opposition this time around.
Elsewhere, Peterhead and Clyde have recruited well following promotion and will both be looking towards a charge at the play-offs. But East Fife, Dumbarton, Montrose and Stranraer are set to battle it against the drop with little to chose between the four remaining stragglers.
