WLB 2015/16 Preview | Scottish League 1 | How They’ll Finish

HOW will Scottish League 1 pan out this season? We asked pro-punter Dino Vita (@VitaDino) for his views.

Scottish League 1 | How They'll Finish

1. Dunfermline (3/1)

Despite letting down backers in the last two seasons this should be Dunfermline's year. The recruitment of manager Allan Johnston was a savvy one and he can navigate them towards the title like he did with Queen Of The South in this division.

2. Cowdenbeath (9/2)

Relegated from the Championship last season and shorn of manger Jimmy Nicholl and key players, it looks a tough season for the Blue Brazil. Having said that they still have class in their ranks and they should overcome those losses and perform well at this easier level.

3. Ayr United (11/2)

The Honest Men had a poor time of it last season but they should be much better this time round. Manger Ian McCall has made some interesting signings and with this being his first full season in charge expect a title push.

4. Stranraer (9/2)

Second last season, it's unlikely Stranraer will reach those giddy heights this term. The loss of manager Stephen Aitken is a tough one to deal with and with six other players heading for pastures new, the play-offs will be the ceiling of their ambitions.

5. Brechin City (14/1)

Another season of mid-table anonymity awaits Brechin. Their new signings don't seem to have the class to push them forward and the 3-0 loss to Peterhead in the Petrofac Cup was a concern.

6. Forfar Athletic (6/1)

Dick Campbell's men punched above their weight last season and we're almost promoted via the play-offs, those heights are unlikely to be scaled this season. A narrow win over Scotland's worst side Montrose in the Petrofac Cup hardly fills the heart with confidence.

7. Airdrie United (9/1)

Airdrie finished fifth last season and more of the same should occur in the new season. Manager Gary Bollan has brought in seven new signings and it may take time for them to gel.

8. Peterhead (11/1)

Never in the hunt for promotion last season and that should prove to be the case again in 2015/16. Signings have been few and far between and the Bloo Toon have too much to make up to feature in the promotion chase.

9. Albion Rovers (33/1)

It was a great feat from Rovers to win League 2 last season but they should find it tough at this higher level. Darren Young's side have been a yo yo side in recent years and a season of struggle is anticipated.

10. Stenhousemuir (28/1)

The Warriors stayed up by the skin of their teeth last season and may not be as fortunate this time round. Stenny were a massive 19 points adrift of seventh place last campaign and really need to up their game not to have relegation on their mind.
