SUPER SUNDAY'S first fixture features West Brom welcoming Manchester United to The Hawthorns. Ben Levene (@BenLevene96) shares his best bet.
West Brom v Manchester United | Sunday 17th December 2017, 14:15 | Sky Sports
Alan Pardew is yet to have the desired effect in charge at West Brom.
I assume he took over from Tony Pulis with the aim of adding impetus in attack. In his opening game in charge, he started with a front-three of Jay Rodriguez, Hal Robson-Kane and Salomon Rondon but the Baggies are yet to score since he took charge, a run of three matches.
United may not be blowing teams away like they were in the opening weeks of the campaign, but they’re still winning games. They’ve won five of their last six.
Mourinho’s team have been efficient this season, they’ve only draw two matches, which has been an issue over the past few seasons. After losing the Manchester derby, Mourinho’s side bounced back against Bournemouth with a 1-0 win when much-changed.
Finding value in this one looks tricky. Unite at a simple glance look a bit short in a potential banana-skin, but we’ve seen little to suggest West Brom are capable of winning this.
This season, United have been leading at half-time in nine of their 12 wins. This includes all four of their away wins this season. 8/5 about Utd/Utd in this market is worth noting but I’m happy to steer clear.
Under 2.5 goals is worth chancing. Under Pardew, the Baggies have conceded one goal in three matches and were able to come away from Anfield on Wednesday unscathed. Under 2.5 has landed in West Brom’s matches with Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool this season.
Tiredness could come into play meaning a lower tempo and this would only aid us. Meanwhile, United are still without Pogba too, who is a driving force behind much of their attacking play.
