Wednesday’s Bet Of The Day: Inter to impress

JACK Wright's (@JackWright_BSB) brand new Bet of the Day continues on Wednesday as we head to Serie A…

Inter Milan vs Sassuolo | Wednesday 7th April 2021, 17:30 | Premier Sports

Inter Milan look set for their first Scudetto in a decade with a win here opening up an 11-point gap back to city rivals AC with nine games to play.

Antonio Conte’s side couldn’t come in to this clash in better form and will be aiming for a 10th successive league victory, with the recent victory over Atalanta already securing 10 straight Serie A home wins.

Although I was initially drawn towards goals in this fixture I was put off by the fact the Nerazzurri have kept six clean sheets in those aforementioned nine victories – with the last four of those all coming via the slenderest of margins.

Sassuolo seem to have lost their hoodoo over their hosts having won seven of eight league meetings they have now failed to win any of the last four, losing two of the last three whist conceding at least three goals in each and Roberto De Zerbi has also seen his side lose all four clashes so far this campaign with the current top four.

Romelu Lukaku cracked home his 20th league goal of the season and what turned out to be the only goal of the game against Bologna at the weekend, the Belgian international has now scored in seven of his last nine appearances for club and country, hitting the back of the net eight times in total.

With a lengthy absentee list for the visitors this is the sort of game the 27-year-old should be targeting as he looks to close the four-goal gap on Cristiano Ronaldo in the battle for the Capocannoniere – and so with both Inter and Lukaku priced prohibitively for the win and to score – I am putting them together to provide odds just shy of even money with Unibet using either their Bet Builder option or their Wincast tab.

Having had a passion for football for as long as I can remember – I’m talking Shoot League Ladders here – one of my first “bets” is still my biggest win. After begging my mum to let me fill in her pools coupon so I could show off my knowledge, eight draws later and a cheque for £11,500 was soon in the post. As a Norwich fan it’s important to have a good grasp of what’s going on in the lower leagues and I also like exploring those less popular leagues to have a delve into any stats-based markets that are available. Right now, I’m particularly enjoying player bets. Outside of sport, I love eating and drinking - maybe a little too much - as well as listening to a varied spectrum of music, both from the comfort of my own home and at festivals.
