WALES maintained their unbeaten start to the Euro 2016 qualifiers by taking a point from their meeting with Bosnia on Friday night. So how can we profit from their clash with Cyprus on Monday evening?
Wales v Cyprus | 19.45 | Sky Sports 5
Wales produced a determined display to upset the odds and claim a point from their clash with Bosnia but now Chris Coleman’s men must take all three points on offer from the visit of Cyprus. The Dragons are quoted at 4/9 with Bet365 to produce the goods but it’s worth digging deeper for a bigger priced alternative.
The visitors may have stunned the football world with their 25/1 win at Bosnia in September but they were utterly dominated in that encounter and have now lost 18 of their past 24 fixtures. But it’s worth noting that in their last 20 competitive away games, the Cypriots have only once lost by a margin of three goals or more and that came in Germany seven years ago.
Wales themselves have failed to score three goals in a home qualifier for 19 matches but with Gareth Bale on show, it’s probably not ideal to oppose the Dragons in the Team Goals markets, especially with Under 2.5 Wales Goals trading at just 1/3 with Bet365.
So instead I’m taking a chance on two alternatives at hunky odds. Cyprus may have failed to score in nine of their past 11 but when it matters most, Pambos Christodoulou’s team can prove a danger. In four of their last seven qualifiers on the road the Both Teams To Score bet has been a winner. And that tallies nicely with Wales keeping just two clean sheets in 14 competitive matches.
Backing a home win with both teams scoring is a 15/4 chance with Coral and worthy of consideration whilst Wales to win by two goals in the Winning Margin market at 16/5 with Paddy Power and also deserving of a small punt.
