Tuesday’s Bet Of The Day: Moors to make their mark

JACK Wright's (@JackWright_BSB) Bet of the Day continues on Tuesday as we head to the National League.

Kings Lynn vs Solihull Moors | Tuesday 25th May 2021, 19:45

Solihull Moors continued their impressive end to the National League season and made it five successive victories when handing a 4-1 hiding to Wealdstone at the weekend with only the concession of a late penalty and twice hitting the woodwork preventing an even wider margin of victory.

Realistically the season can’t end soon enough for the patched-up Linnets, conceding another five goals at the weekend and helping to comfortably land Saturday’s bet of the day in the process, as a result I see no reason not to go back for more along a similar theme.

Ian Culverhouse’s side – as I have mentioned on more than one occasion, have had to furlough players just to survive through to the end of the season and with relegation from the fifth tier scrapped have been able to play with more than a little freedom shall we say.

The Norfolk side have suffered nine defeats in the last eleven fixtures, picking up just two points whilst conceding a whopping 31 goals, and in their last eight defeats have shipped three goals twice, four on four occasions and five against Boreham Wood as well as at Wrexham on Saturday.

Mark Yates’ side, although leaving their play-off charge just too late are the form side in the league and will have no better opportunity to extend that run with another comprehensive victory at The Walks, laying down a marker for next season in the process, making them a more attractive proposition for any potential new recruits in the summer.

The reverse fixture in October ended in a 5-0 thumping win for The Moors, before Lynn’s problems really kicked in so. Especially given the two sides current form, I am expecting more of the same here.

Having had a passion for football for as long as I can remember – I’m talking Shoot League Ladders here – one of my first “bets” is still my biggest win. After begging my mum to let me fill in her pools coupon so I could show off my knowledge, eight draws later and a cheque for £11,500 was soon in the post. As a Norwich fan it’s important to have a good grasp of what’s going on in the lower leagues and I also like exploring those less popular leagues to have a delve into any stats-based markets that are available. Right now, I’m particularly enjoying player bets. Outside of sport, I love eating and drinking - maybe a little too much - as well as listening to a varied spectrum of music, both from the comfort of my own home and at festivals.
