Sheffield United host Everton on Monday night in a Premier League game broadcast live on Amazon Prime.

Despite disappointing in a 2-0 loss to Leicester last week, the Blades are still in the hunt for a European place and need to win this one to retain a realistic chance heading into the final day.

Having failed to win their last four matches, the Toffees have very little to play for here. They cannot finish higher than 11th nor lower than 14th, which feels representative of their indifferent form this season.

To be honest, indifferent is being kind to the performances they’ve put up since the restart. Nine points from seven games doesn’t look too bad on the face of it but it’s been a tough watch at times, with very little width or penetration on offer in Carlo Ancelotti’s narrow 4-4-2 system.

I can see Sheffield United’s wing-backs having serious joy on Monday, then, with Sheffield United corners definitely an angle to attack on the betting markets. Everton have conceded 5+ corners in their last 11 league games, gaining at least two fewer than their opponents in seven of those.

Chris Wilder’s side, meanwhile, average seven corners-per-game at home across the whole campaign, so I think 5/6 on the Blades having at least two more corners than Everton is a good price on the corner handicap market with Bet365.

Indeed, while they’ve struggled on the road of late, Sheff Utd have actually been very strong at home, beating Tottenham, Wolves and Chelsea in their three league games at Bramall Lane since the restart.

Everton have been shocking on the road all season, lying 16th in the away table with a -15 goal difference, and I see further misery for them here.

23/20 is a good price on Sheff Utd to win and I’ll keep it simple by backing them on the outright with Sky Bet.

I've been a football fanatic ever since my five-year-old self saw Michael Owen score *that* goal against Argentina. My dad's a Liverpool fan so I never looked back from there. As an avid watcher, player, and writer of the game, I suppose betting on it was always an inevitability at some point. It started off with a weekly accumulator and the odd punt on national tournaments, but with the rise of player markets and custom bet builders in recent years I feel there's more fun, control and value to be had these days, which is what it's all about, really. I'll always ensure I research the stats and probabilities behind my tips (where possible) so that my experienced eyes aren't playing tricks on me!
