Serie A: Rely on Sassuolo delivering the goods once again

OUR man in Italy, Marco Di Cosmo (@scioltz) looks to continue his hot streak in Serie A with three selections on Sunday.

Inter v Empoli | Sunday 14:00 | BT Sport 2

Inter tremendous run of form came to an end against Juve at the Juventus Stadium. They only lost 1-0 but emerged with credit after going close a couple of time  and controlling the game for decent part of the match.

I think their run will continue when they meet Empoli, who are among the worst travellers in Serie A, as they've managed to win only one game away from their stadium.

Inter are so solid at home, where their run of seven consecutive Serie A wins is ongoing. Given the inconsistent nature of the visitors, I will back Inter on the handicap conceding 1.5 goals. Considering that the neroazzurri have won their last five home games by more than a one goal margin it's a confident pick.

Sassuolo v Chievo | Sunday 14:00

I am keen to back Sassuolo again after they have proved to be reliable in recent bets. Backing them to win has payed out without many worries, and I think they can keep up on the pace that has brought them three wins in their  last four games.

Their form has benefited a lot from the return of Domenico Berardi, and their transfer window has not been as negative as predicted, since they did not lose any major player.

Chievo, on the other hand, are a team who love the first half of seasons and usually lower their performances in the second half. They are safe and solid in mid-table and I do not think they have much to prove here. Sassuolo on the other hand still something to prove to their supporters and are generally a much more quality squad.

Torino v Pescara | Sunday 14:00

Pescara are surely the most disappointing side of the Serie A so far. Their inconsistency has been proven recently by Lazio, in a game where they were thrashed 6-2 away after going in level at half-time.

Things are unlikely to be better when they travel to Torino as the granata score for fun and generally are a threat even for bigger teams. Pescara have conceded 23 goals in 10 away games, avoiding a loss only two times when they drew against Palermo and Genoa. No doubt Torino will be favourites here and I’ll back them to win with over 2.5 goals scored in the match.
