Scottish Football Tips | Final Day Of The Season NAP | 2nd May 2015

AS it's the final day of the season in the lower leagues of Scotland, we asked Edinburgh writer and punter Dino Vita (@VitaDino) for his best bet.

Annan Athletic v Montrose | Saturday 15:00

My fancy this week comes from Scotland's fourth tier, delving down into League 2 with play-off chasing Annan. They are a modest 17/20 (BetVictor) at home to basement boys Montrose on Saturday.

Annan have a good record in recent matches against sides in and around them competing for the play-offs, with a 2-1 win at home to East Fife and a nine goal thriller last week winning 4-5 away to Elgin City.

In terms of reaching the play-offs, Annan need some divine intervention in order to steal the last spot, they're praying for East Fife to lose and a seven goal swing in their favour.

Montrose are ten points adrift at the foot of the table and are facing the prospect of losing their football league status due to Scotland's introduction of the new pyramid system.

Montrose must defeat either Highland league Brora Rovers or Lowland league champions Edinburgh City over a two legged play off in order to remain in the division. The first leg is scheduled for next Saturday.

For this very reason I believe Montrose's focus this weekend lies elsewhere and Annan are ready to capitalise with a must win, needed to take them to the play-offs.
