Scottish Football: Killie may crumble against enthusiastic ‘Gers, says Dino Vita

PRO PUNTER Dino Vita (@VitaDino) kicks-off the 2019/20 season with a NAP from Sunday's televised Premiership encounter between Kilmarnock and Rangers.

Kilmarnock v Rangers | Sunday 4th August 2019, 13:30 | Sky Sports

My first selection of the new season arrives from the Scottish Premiership as Kilmarnock host Rangers on Sunday. I’m getting this in early as I feel the 4/5 (Coral) price on the Teddy Bears will disappear before the weekend.

Steven Gerrard’s men have looked excellent in pre-season, as well as the early qualifying rounds of the Europa league, which suggests they could be the real deal this term. Impressive summer signings at Ibrox, along with keeping star striker Alfredo Morelos, has the ‘Gers fans believing this could be their year.

Kilmarnock punched above their weight last season to finish third – a massive achievement. However, losing Manager of the Year, Steve Clarke, was a massive blow to the Rugby Park club.

New Killie boss Angelo Alessio has taken over but is already under pressure after being knocked out of the Europa League preliminaries at the first round stage by part-time Welsh side Connah’s Quay.

Rangers will want to start the new season by taking three points at a ground they struggled at last season, and it’s probably best time to play a Kilmarnock side that’s still getting used to their new coach’s style of play.
