Scottish Football – Keep Championship leaders onside, says Mr Fixit

THE Daily Record's Mr Fixit (@mrfixittps) casts his eye over the weekend's Scottish football fixtures, highlighting his best bets.

St Mirren v Inverness | Saturday 6th January, 15:00

St Mirren and Dundee United have made the race for the Championship title a two-horse race and both should win this weekend.

Jack Ross’s hosts drew at Morton on Tuesday after winning four in a row and lead United, who have a game in hand, by three points with third-place Livingston 12 adrift having played two matches fewer.

Saints have beaten Inverness twice this season – both times by two goals. The only teams Inverness have beaten recently are Dumbarton and Brechin and I fancy a home win at 11/10 with Bet365.

Falkirk v Dundee United | Saturday 6th January, 15:00

United are worth backing at a biggest 23/20 with Marathon at a Falkirk side who have won just once in 15.

It was 0-0 when the sides met at the Falkirk Stadium back in September but United have been pretty consistent under Csaba Laszlo and their only dropped points in five games were at St Mirren.

Stenhousemuir v Peterhead | Saturday 6th January, 15:00

Peterhead were the festive goals kings with 13 goals in two matches against Montrose and Elgin.  They travel to Stenhousemuir where they have struggled in recent visits – losing four out of six.

The last seven meetings at Ochilview though have totalled 30 goals – all going Over 2.5 Goals with both sides scoring.

Back a repeat of that at 10/11 with SkyBet.

Best Bets

St Mirren v Inverness – St Mirren to win (11/10 Bet365)

Falkirk v Dundee United – Dundee United to win (23/20 Marathon)

Stenhousemuir v Peterhead – Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score (10/11 SkyBet)
