Scottish Football: Back Bairns on trip to the basement boys, says Mr Fixit

DAILY RECORD star Mr Fixit (@mrfixittps) returns with his best bets from the weekend's Scottish football card.

Hibs v St Mirren | Saturday 1st February 2020, 15:00

Hibs blew away Dundee United in their cup replay and with hat-trick hero Christian Doidge and Martin Boyle in good form I fancy them to edge out a St Mirren side struggling for goals.

Saints have suffered defeat in nine of their 11 away games in the Premiership, while Hibs are starting to hit form under Jack Ross.

The Hibees have won three of their last four at home – losing only to Rangers – and I'm on them at 5/6 with Marathon.

Dundee United v Arbroath | Saturday 1st February 2020, 15:00

Dundee United let plenty down by drawing with Morton last week but with the Lawrence Shankland saga over they can get on with clinching the title ASAP.

The £3m-rated striker scored his 27th club goal of the season in the midweek cup defeat at Easter Road and will again be the main danger on Saturday after interested clubs failed to lure him away in the transfer window.

Runaway Championship leaders United can dispose of an Arbroath side who are still battling relegation while also pushing for the promotion play-offs.

Back United and Over 1.5 Goals at 4/5 with Coral.

Stranraer v Falkirk | Saturday 1st February 2020, 15:00

Falkirk took the scalp of second-tier Arbroath in the cup in midweek and can keep the pressure on League One leaders Raith this weekend.

The Bairns are unbeaten in nine, winning four of the last five, and should be too good for bottom club Stranraer.

The Blues have gone eight games without victory and I like Falkirk and Over 2.5 Goals at evens with Boylesports.

Best Bets

Hibs v St Mirren – Hibs to win (5/6 Marathon)

Dundee United v Arbroath – Dundee United to win and Over 1.5 Goals (4/5 Coral)

Stranraer v Falkirk – Falkirk to win and Over 2.5 Goals (1/1 Boylesports)
