Scottish Football: Away-day pay-day in the Championship, says Mr Fixit

DAILY RECORD star Mr Fixit (@mrfixittps) returns with his best bets from the weekend's Scottish football card.

Partick v Dundee United | Saturday 11th January 2020, 15:00

Home or away? Wins on the road are the preference for Championship sides.

Eight out of nine matches over the past two Saturdays have been claimed by the visitors with the last home win coming on December 21. It's some trend and there's every possibility it can continue on Saturday with three of the top five travelling – leaders Dundee United, Ayr and Dunfermline.

Five away wins would be remarkable but not impossible and that pays 156/1 at Bet365.

Runaway leaders Dundee United should certainly oblige at a best 23/20 with Bet365 as they head to Partick Thistle. The Jags have improved under Ian McCall but not enough to lift them out of trouble although just three points separates fifth from ninth.

Forfar v Raith | Saturday 11th January 2020, 15:00

In League One, Raith's top scorer Jamie Gullan will play his last game for the league leaders (again!) after being recalled by Hibs and can help them to victory at Forfar.

If you believe in stats both will score – it's happened in the last seven meetings at Station Park.

I'm happy to take Raith and Over 1.5 Goals instead, though, at 6/5 with Paddy Power.

Forfar have lost five of six at home – all going Over 1.5 – while Raith are seeking a third straight success after netting seven in two games.

Cowdenbeath v Albion | Saturday 11th January 2020, 15:00

In League Two, back third-place Cowdenbeath to beat a Rovers side crashing down the table.

Cowden are strong at home, taking 10 points from the last 12, while Rovers are winless in eight away trips.

Take the hosts at 21/20 with Bet365.

Best Bets

Partick v Dundee United – Dundee United to win (23/20 Bet365)

Forfar v Raith – Raith to win and Over 1.5 Goals (6/5 Paddy Power)

Cowdenbeath v Albion – Cowdenbeath to win (21/20 (Bet365)
