Scottish Betting Preview & Tips: Teddy Bears to sign-off in style

0

SCOTTISH football aficionado Gerry Taylor (@thefurlongpole) continues his new column, sharing his NAP, next best and long shot ahead of the weekend action.

NAP – Rangers HT-FT (1/1 Red Zone)

The champions will be looking to finish their league campaign in style, and as ‘invincibles’. The points tally and the chance to go unbeaten in the campaign are very important to Steven Gerrard, and their wasn't much sign of them easing up in a 3-0 at Livingston in midweek.

The Dons in truth, haven't been that impressive since Stephen Glass was appointed, being embarrassed by Dundee Utd at Pittodrie in the cup, and losing out, in midweek to Hibs for third spot in the league.

The Gers recently have been quick out the traps, leading at half time and full time at Ibrox in 5/6. Over the season this bet has landed for the hosts incredibly in 14/18. So evens with Red Zone looks of interest given that the Teddy Bears will want to professionally get the job done with the minimum of fuss.

Next best – Kilmarnock (1/1 Betfair)

The Accies, the great escape artists in recent seasons, finally more or less got relegated in midweek in the Highlands. They will play championship football next season, unless they beat the visitors by nine goals.

Killie for the second time recently, found a way to draw 3-3 at home to St Mirren, when a victory was within their grasp. Tommy Wright's charges are scoring on average, pretty much three goals a game recently – this is mainly due to Kyle Lafferty who has been in great form.

The Ayrshire men need to win here against the beleaguered Accies, who will be now looking to regroup for next season in the Championship. If Motherwell were to beat Ross County, and Killie take care of Brian Rice's team, Killie would avoid a potential play off. At even money with Betfair, the visitors at least, should be able to keep their side of the bargain.

Long shot – Rangers to win 5-0, 6-0 and 7-0 (from 35/1)

With Rangers about to receive the league trophy on Saturday, they will be looking to bring down the curtain on a superb season, with an emphatic performance. It could be that the Dons, a team that will look a bit different next season, maybe coming here on the wrong day.

It's quite feasible that the Gers will want get the party started in some style by scoring a few goals here against visitors, who have had a quiet time in front of goal, and a disappointing season.

I'm suggesting a speculative punt on the following three scores, on the off chance that the Gers decide to let loose: Rangers to win 5-0 (35/1 Sporting Index), Rangers to win 6-0 (901 Sporting Index) and Rangers to win 7-0 (175/1 Sporting Index).
