Scottish Betting Preview & Tips: Plenty on the line at Dingwall

SCOTTISH football aficionado Gerry Taylor (@thefurlongpole) runs the rule over Wednesday night's Premiership action.

Aberdeen vs Hibs | Wednesday 12th May 2021, 19:45

This match will go a long way to decide, which team finishes best of the rest in third.

Since the Dons brought in new manager Stephen Glass, results and performances have been a bit mixed. Hibs come into this one on a high, having reached the final of the Scottish Cup, comfortably dispatching Dundee Utd – who were the conquerors of the Dons in the quarters.

A draw would clinch third spot in the league for the Hibees. With that in mind, I like the look of Hibs Double Chance and Under 4 Goals at 5/6 with Bet 365.

Selection: Hibs Double Chance and Under 4 Goals (5/6 Bet365)

Celtic vs St Johnstone | Wednesday 12th May 2021, 18:30

Two sides meet here, who have had contrasting 2020/21 seasons. The Hoops have had a bit of a stinker, whilst the Saints will now be eyeing up the Scottish Cup to add to the League Cup with is already displayed in the McDiarmid trophy room.

The hosts have goalie Scott Bain out injured for this, so will have to call on Vasilis Barkas.

Callum Davidson's players should be feeling good about themselves, and are probably worth a few quid at a nice 15/2 with Bet-365.

Selection: St Johnstone to win (15/2 Bet365)

Dundee Utd vs Motherwell | Wednesday 12th May 2021, 18:00

Both these sides have similar league records, and are separated by only a few points.

The Tangerines could have a bit of a hangover from their semi-final loss at Hampden. Meanwhile, the Steelmen have a bit of upheaval, with Declan Gallagher having signed a pre-contract with Aberdeen, and there is speculation about midfielder Alan Campbell also leaving.

A draw at 23/10 at Betfai, is the suggestion here, as there isn't a lot to play in all honesty.

Selection: Draw (23/10 Betfair)

Kilmarnock vs St Mirren | Wednesday 12th May 2021, 19:45

Tommy Wright will be hoping that the Buddies arrive in Ayrshire on a bit of a downer. Jim Goodwin’s gusts have just lost out for the second time at the semi-final stage of a cup competition.

If Killie are to escape from relegation trouble, this match most definitely comes into the ‘must win' category.

Kyle Lafferty’s anytime to score price – 39/20 with Unibet, stands out as decent value, as the big Northern Irish striker’s goals have single handedly given the Ayrshire men a chance to beat the drop.

Selection: Kyle Lafferty to score anytime (39/20 Unibet).

Livingston vs Rangers | Wednesday 12th May 2021, 18:00

The Gers will just want to complete their league season with an unbeaten record as champions.

Livvy usually compete well, and put on a decent showing against the Old Firm at the Tony Macaroni. Taking everything into consideration, taking the hosts at +1 on the Asian Handicap at evens with Bet365, could be the play here.

Selection: Livingston +1 Asian Handicap (1/1 Bet365)

Ross County vs Hamilton | Wednesday 12th May 2021, 19:45

This is a massive game in Dingwall, as both these sides are locked in a three-way relegation battle with Kilmarnock.

Strangely, this will be the third time Willie Collum has refereed these two teams this term. In the previous head-to-heads he has shown two yellow cards and three yellow cards.

With this game having huge ramifications on who will finish in the bottom positions, I like William Hill's 21/20 on the Staggies receiving Over 1.5 Cards, and the Accies Over 0.5 Cards.

Both sets of players shouldn't be holding back here, and the hosts are usually good for a card or two.

Selection: Ross County Over 1.5 Cards, Hamilton Over 0.5 Cards (21/20 William Hill)
