DAILY RECORD star Mr Fixit (@mrfixitstips) picks out his best bet for Scotland's Nations League opener against Albania on Monday night.

Scotland v Albania | Monday 10th September 2018, 19:45 | Sky Sports

We knew Scotland would lose to Belgium but all will be forgiven if Albania are beaten on Monday night.

I tipped Romelu Lukaku to score first at 7/2 and it wasn’t too difficult to call but this encounter is much tougher with Christian Panucci’s side on a par with us, and put three Nations League points on the board against Israel on Thursday.

Albania made it to Euro 2016 but in World Cup qualifying their only away victories came at Liechtenstein and Israel.

Scotland will expect to win at a best 5/6 with bet365 but Alex McLeish’s side need to improve defensively and take our chances.

Allan McGregor will replace Craig Gordon in goal and that could be crucial after the Celtic keeper made a couple of mistakes – as well as some good saves – against Belgium.

Leigh Griffiths picked up a knock against Belgium but is expected to lead the line and is 9/2 at bet365 to score first while Celtic team-mate Callum McGregor is an alternative at 10/1.

Albania aren’t prolific scorers – they netted just once at the Euro finals and failed to score home and away against Spain and Italy in the World Cup qualifiers.

McGregor will fancy a clean sheet at 21/20 with William Hill and if Scotland are to win it will probably be by one goal at 13/5 with Marathon.

Albania +2 has a chance at 1/3 with Sportingbet while Albania +1 pays 11/10 with Bet365.

The visitors will have some backers at a biggest 9/2 with Betfred while the draw is 12/5 but for me best bet is Under 2.5 Goals at 7/10 with Marathon.

Best Bets

Scotland v Albania – Under 2.5 goals (7/10 Marathon)
