JACK Wright's (@JackWright_BSB) Bet of the Day continues on Saturday as we head to the Champions League final…

Manchester City vs Chelsea | Saturday 29th May 2021, 20:00 | BT Sport

The Estádio do Dragão in Porto plays host to the 66th showpiece final of Europe’s premier club competition and I have provided a full preview for this massive clash which can be found elsewhere on this website – so I will keep the information on today’s Bet of the Day fairly brief!

This match is expected to be a tight, tense affair as Pep Guardiola’s side look to exact revenge on Chelsea for handing them two defeats in two separate competitions and ending the dream of a quadruple for the season, however, with the EPL and EFL Cup in the bag City’s sights remain firmly on an incredible treble of trophies here.

Manchester City have a clean bill of health going in to this final and although Sergio Aguero scored twice from the bench at the weekend, Pep Guardiola is expected to resist sentiment in what will be the Argentinian’s last appearance for the club and instead go without a recognised striker here.

This means we should see Kevin De Bruyne deployed as a “false 9” here as was the case in both legs of the semi-final against PSG.

Despite not playing in the prior three matches because of muscle fatigue the Belgian international completed the full 90 minutes of the EPL finale last weekend scoring once from two shots on target in the emphatic 5-0 win against Everton.

Paddy Power are offering odds of 16/5 for a repeat of that performance and that price is too big to overlook for a player of De Bruyne’s obvious talent and who is likely to be the most advanced of City’s array of attacking talent as well as being towards the front of the queue for any set piece situations around – or possibly inside – the box.

Best Bet

Manchester City vs Chelsea – Kevin De Bruyne 2 or more shots on target (16/5 Paddy Power)

Having had a passion for football for as long as I can remember – I’m talking Shoot League Ladders here – one of my first “bets” is still my biggest win. After begging my mum to let me fill in her pools coupon so I could show off my knowledge, eight draws later and a cheque for £11,500 was soon in the post. As a Norwich fan it’s important to have a good grasp of what’s going on in the lower leagues and I also like exploring those less popular leagues to have a delve into any stats-based markets that are available. Right now, I’m particularly enjoying player bets. Outside of sport, I love eating and drinking - maybe a little too much - as well as listening to a varied spectrum of music, both from the comfort of my own home and at festivals.
