PSG v Chelsea Tips | 17th February 2015

THE Champions League returns this week and this intriguing tie between the French and English title favourites gets things underway. Chris Graham (@chrisgraham79) takes a look at the odds.

These sides met in last year's Champions League Quarter-Final with Chelsea edging through on away goals thanks to a late goal from Demba Ba. It might not be so close this time round.

Despite being a win off the top spot in France, it's been a flat season for PSG domestically. They've failed to win 12 of their 25 league games and suffered defeats at the hands of Guingamp and Bastia. On Saturday they surrendered a 2-0 home lead against Caen to draw 2-2.

That game not only saw them lose two points, but also potentially up to four players to injuries. Yohan Cabaye, Marquinhos, Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura are the players in question and remain doubtful for this match.

Chelsea have most definitely improved in the 10 months since they knocked out the French champions. Diego Costa, Cesc Fabregas and Filipe Luis have joined the club since and the former two have played pivotal roles in sending the Blues seven points clear at the top of the English top division.

Jose Mourinho will no doubt smell blood in this fixture but as with most knockout away European ties he should adopt a conservative approach. Indeed in six of his last eight Champions League knockout away matches with Chelsea, Under 2.5 Goals punters have been rewarded. I'd be surprised if that doesn't go seven out of nine on Tuesday.

Despite the vast riches at PSG, five of their last six games have gone Under 2.5 Goals and their only the third highest scorers in Ligue 1. It all stacks up to a game light in goals for me.

It's the Asian Handicap Goal Lines that get me excited here and I'll back 888 Sports' 15/13 quote on Under 2 Goals. The good thing about this market is that if there's exactly two goals in the game, my stake will be returned.
