The two class sides in this group face off at the Estadio Do Dragao on Tuesday night, with City already qualified for the knockout stages and Porto only needing a point from their final two games to also secure their passage.

The gap is class is clearly seen by the fact that these two sides have not conceded a goal since they faced each other in the opening game of the group and while I wouldn’t read too much in to clean sheets against Olympiakos and Marseille, it does lead you to wonder if either side will be particularly gung-ho.

As stated previously, City look stronger defensively than they have for quite some time and since they conceded five against Leicester at the end of September, The Citizens have conceded just six goals in 12 matches in all competitions. Their goals have dried up a little, although a 5-0 hammering of Burnley at the weekend is a timely reminder of the quality they possess.

2-1 and 3-1 have been very common scorelines under Pep, but their recent improvements at the back, coupled with the lack of intensity we may see from them given that they have already qualified, leads me to avoid backing either result here.

Instead, I will keep it simple and back City and Under 4.5 Goals, which is evens with Betway. I think that is quite a conservative play but it enables you to keep both scorelines onside as well as several others.

I did consider the goalscoring markets but with a combination of injuries and volume of fixtures meaning so much rotation to the City XI, it is one I will avoid for now. However, if news comes in that Sergio Aguero is starting, the 7/2 (General) on him to score first looks like excellent value.
