What a game it was between the Saints and the 49ers last week. A hugely enjoyable game to watch unless you’re a defensive coach and proved, at least to me, this New Orleans offense can still put it to a very good defence. Indeed, after the nine point, TD-less debacle in their first game against the Falcons, the Saints have averaged 35 points per-game.

During this four-game span, New Orleans has also scored in every single quarter. At home in the Superdome, against a middling Indianapolis defence (15th in yards allowed and 17th in points) I think the Saints offense will keep it rolling again in this game and so I’ll be backing them to Score in Every Quarter for the fifth game in a row at 13/8 (Sky Bet).

Drew Brees hasn’t missed a beat since returning from a hand injury in late October, throwing for an average of just over 288 yards as well as 15 TDs to just two INTs in the six games he’s played post-injury. As I mentioned, the Colts have in no way a terrible defence, but there’s not many teams that can slow Brees down as the 49ers showed last week.

I also don’t think we’ll be seeing the Saints with no reason to be scoring in the 4th quarter either. Despite losing their last three games, the Colts have a knack of making it close regardless as to which side of the win / loss column they end up adding to – 11 of their 13 games this season have been decided by one score or less.

I’m fairly sure it won’t happen, but if the Colts fancy morphing into the 49ers so we can have a repeat of last week, that’d be great for both betting and viewing!
