Nations League – Underrated newcomers can avoid away defeat

FOOTBALL lover Ross Casey (@rosscasey24) shares his betting thoughts on Friday night's Nations League action.

Italy v Poland | Friday 7th September 2018, 19:45 | Sky Sports

Poland have a lot to prove after a truly woeful World Cup. This test against Italy should provide a good gauge of where they are after their disappointing summer and I think they can at least get on the scoresheet in Bologna.

Italy have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five games and Poland have the firepower to net here, in my opinion.

They of course have Robert Lewandowski but they also have Napoli pair Arkadiusz Milik and Piotr Zleinski as well as likely debutant Krzysztof Piatek. The new Genoa man has scored three times in their opening two games and could well keep that run going with a goal in this one.

Back Both Teams To Score at a best price of 4/3 with 188BET.

Azerbaijan v Kosovo | Friday 7th September 2018, 17:00 | Sky Sports

Kosovo look a little underrated here.

The newcomers come into this match on the back of four wins in a row and their recent losses have been 1-0 by Croatia and 2-0 by both Iceland and the Ukraine which are no shameful results.

They have Milot Rashica in the squad who is capable of the spectacular as his last minute free-kick for Werder Bremen proved last week.

Against an Azerbaijan side that have won just two of their last nine games themselves, the price of 5/6 available for Kosovo double chance looks a great investment.

Albania v Israel | Friday 7th September 2018, 19:45 | Sky Sports

To say that Albania's form is poor would be an understatement.

Their only win in eight games was a hugely surprising 3-2 win away in Turkey with a 3-0 loss to Kosovo and a 4-1 loss to the Ukraine in their last two fixtures, they will be looking to put things right this Friday night against Israel.

The away side haven't really played much of late – in fact since October 2017 they have only played once. This could have an adverse effect on the side or it could be a good thing as they themselves had only won one in seven.

This is a meeting of two out of sorts types, and for me, I like the look of a draw at 11/5 with William Hill.
