National League – Yellows to continue their unbeaten run

NON-LEAGUE expert Paul Maddison (@LouthBigDog) unpicks the Bank Holiday National League action.

Luckily, after a frustrating weekend, with Wrexham conceding in the 92nd minute, we don't have to wait too long for another round of National League games. There's a full card this Monday.

Usually a late goal messing up your bet is bad enough – when it's an own goal from a player who last season played for the club you support, it's even harder to take. An odds-against shot on a bonus day off work (for most, sorry if you're working) should ease the pain, though.

Aldershot vs Sutton | Monday 27th August, 15:00

Sutton exceeded everyone's expectations last season by finishing 3rd and they've started this season equally as impressively. They're unbeaten in six, with three wins and drawing three. All three draws came in very difficult games – one against title chasing Fylde, the other two were away trips against Harrogate and Solihull, who both have very strong home records.

Aldershot also had a better season than most expected last time out. The Shot's looked like title contenders until the last few months of the campaign. Since February 10th they've won just five of 21 competitive matches. That run includes four losses in their last five matches – they beat Dagenham and Redbridge during that time, but they have just one point. Aldershot have also found the net just three times from six games so far this season.

Sutton Draw no Bet looks a cracking price here at 121/100 with Marathon.

About Author

I first got the taste for betting when I was quite young, every year I would pick a horse for the Grand National and my Dad would go to the bookies and put my £1 each way bet on. As soon as I could get away with it I was in the bookies every Saturday afternoon searching the football coupons and putting on stupidly big accas. Now enjoy betting mainly singles or small multiples, usually sticking to the English leagues. I don't favour any particular market, but rarely watch a game without having small first scorer bet for a bit of fun. I've got 3 boys which take up most of my time, but luckily they enjoy going to watch football and days at the races. I'm a life long Grimsby Town fan, one of a few that has seen some ups as well as all the downs.
