Braintree v Eastleigh | Saturday 6th October 2018, 15:00
Braintree are really struggling this season and I don't see things getting any better as they host an in-form Eastleigh side.
The Iron have lost eight of their last 10 and sit bottom of the table on six points. The one thing they had going for them was, they weren't conceding many goals. But that all changed about 10 days ago and they've since gone on to concede eight in their last two outings – Braintree had only seen seven goals scored against them in the previous seven games.
Another worry for Saturday’s hosts is scoring, as they’ve have failed to net in eight of their 14 games and have notched more than one goal just once.
After a mixed start to the season Eastleigh seem to be putting a bit of a run together. The Spitfires are unbeaten in five and have won their last three without conceding.
Eastleigh's main problem is that they also don't score many, so I'm not expecting a thriller. They have only netted 11 times in their 14 games – luckily for them, they probably won't need to score many to win the game.
A win here would be the first time the club have won four games in a row in the National League since promotion from the National League South. You can get evens with Betway for an away win and that looks a decent price.
I'm also having a stab at a 1-0 Eastleigh win at 63/10 with Marathon. It's a scoreline that Braintree have lost by in five of their 14 matches whilst Eastleigh have won by the same result in four ties already this term.
Dover v Salford | Saturday 6th October 2018, 15:00
Dover are another team that are really struggling at the moment, so it's a bad time for them to be taking on the league’s most in-form team, Salford.
The south coast club have picked up just three points in their last 10 matches and failed to score in five of their last six. At home they have lost five of seven. The Whites also have the joint-worst goals against tally in the division, conceding 28 in their 14 fixtures.
It took Salford until the fourth match of the season to pick u their first win, but since then they are unbeaten in 11, winning nine of those games. They have conceded just once in their last seven outings.
The Ammies price has shortened considerably since opening up but I've found another angle I like to get them onside.
Dover have conceded two or more goals in 11 of their 14 games. Salford have a forward line that wouldn't look out of place in a League One team, and they have netted 14 times in their last six matches and so should cause a poor Dover side plenty of problems.
Coral are offering 17/20 on the league leaders scoring two or more goals – that looks a great price.
