National League: Four non-league bets to keep an eye on

0

NON-LEAGUE expert Paul Maddison (@LouthBigDog) shares his favourite fancies from the weekend's National League action.

The National League was packed full of goals in the opening weeks of the season, so I set out to complete research on goal based bets this week.

Then, bank holiday Monday happened. In the 12 National League games, just 16 goals were scored, five of those were in one match, leaving the other 11 games averaging just one goal per game.

North Ferriby v Tamworth| Saturday 2nd September 2017, 15:00

First up I'm opposing North Ferriby again. In my last two previews, I've gone into detail about how bad their form has been recently. They have lost 12 of 14, the two they didn't lose were games I backed against them. If they let me down again they're definitely going on ‘the list'.

I'll be backing their opponents, Tamworth, currently sitting at 67/50 (Marathon Bet), sit in seventh place in the league having won three of their last four games.

Whitehawk v Poole Town| Saturday 2nd, September 2017, 15:00

Next, I'm heading for The National League South for the first time this season. Whitehawk sit bottom of the league on just 1 point having conceded 6 more goals than any other team. Poole Town to win is my bet at 6/5 (Bet 365).

Their visitors haven't had a great start to the season, picking up seven points from seven games, but they have had a tough start to the season. Their away form has been decent though with two wins from three matches.

Chester v Torquay | Saturday 2nd, September 2017, 15:00

I'm going back to The National League for my third bet. Torquay have had a dreadful start to the season, picking up just one point so far, even though they have played a few teams I would expect to be low in the table come the end of the season.

They've also conceded five more goals than any other team in the league.

They play Chester this weekend who look a decent price at 12/5 (Bet 365) having won one and drawn one of their two away games so far, this season. I'm going to play it safe by backing Chester draw no bet at 36/25 (Marathon Bet).

Leyton Orient v Guiseley | Saturday 2nd, September 2017, 15:00

Finally, I fancy Leyton Orient to win comfortably against Guiseley, who I tipped for relegation at the start of the season. The O's sit in third place in the league whereas their opponents sits third from bottom. Orient have won two and drawn one of three home games, conceding just two goals.

Guiseley, on the other hand, has lost all three away games with an aggregate score of 0-9. The O's are a bit short to back to win but I still like their chances of covering the -1 on the Asian Handicap at 19/20 (888 Bet). That means if Leyton Orient wins by just one goal the stakes are returned. If the win by 2 or more the bet wins.

Best Bets

North Ferriby v Tamworth – Tamworth to win (67/50 Marathon Bet)

Whitehawk v Poole Town – Poole Town to win (6/5 Bet365)

Chester v Torquay – Chester draw no bet (36/25 Marathon Bet)

Leyton Orient v Guiseley – Leyton Orient -1 on the Asian Handicap at 19/20 (888 Bet)
