No video for the midweek matches in The Skrill Premier, North and South, but here are my thoughts in writing for my selections from 30 matches in the three divisions which take place on Tuesday night.
MAIN BET – SKRILL PREMIER: HYDE to beat Woking – 17/10 Coral (at time of writing)
I'm having real trouble working out why Hyde aren't favourites for this game across the board, famous last words maybe, but let's look at the facts. Hyde won 9 of their 19 home games last season. Woking will comfortably be among the 10 weakest visitors to Ewen Fields this season. Woking are leaking goals at the moment.
Ok Hyde haven't won a game yet this season, but not even the weakest teams in the division will be winless throughout a campaign. Also, outside of the horror-show at Forest Green on the opening day – where excuses can be given for a heavy defeat with ten-men for a large portion of the game – they haven't actually been beaten by more than one goal all season. On top of that every report I get from their games suggests they are playing well. For 9/1 shots at Kidderminster on Saturday they certainly gave punters a run for their money. Woking are a part-time team traveling up on the day of the game – this is a confident selection for me and Hyde can take their first win of the campaign at a nice price.
OTHER MATCHES TO LOOK AT:
Skrill Premier: Macclesfield (Draw No Bet) away at Chester: Another winless team, but for me there isn't much between these two sides. certainly not enough to put you off backing the away side with some ‘draw insurance'.
Skrill North: North Ferriby to beat Workington: Workington have been poor away from home and I think this can go the way of the home side with minimum fuss.
Also in the Skrill North I like the outside prices on offer for Stockport County and Oxford City to both register wins on the evening.
Skrill South: Eastbourne to beat Eastleigh: The price of around 4/1 for an Eastbourne victory looks far too big, even though Eastleigh have been justifying their pre-season title quotes. Get with Tommy Widdrington's side to cause a shock or at least make full use of their +1 on the handicap.
Weston-super-Mare did us a good turn at 9/4 at the weekend and I believe the bookmakers have under-estimated them again tonight, back them at any odds-against price (currently 6/5) to beat Maidenhead United.
