Manchester United vs Leicester | Tuesday 11th May 2021, 18:00 | BT Sport
- There have been over 2.5 goals scored in 7 of Man Utd's last 8 home games in the Premier League.
- Man Utd have scored at least 2 goals in 5 of their last 6 home matches in the Premier League.
- Leicester are undefeated in 11 of their last 12 away matches in the Premier League.
It’s a manic week for Manchester United who will be playing three times in just 5 days. Their weekend win over Aston Villa edged them closer to securing second, it continued their fine form and it’s now just one defeat in 28 league games, a feat that seems to have gone unnoticed by some.
Many will laugh when any praise is given to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but he has made this side a serious force again and dealt admirably with heavy fixture congestion.
The bookmakers are expecting wholesale changes for the Red Devils on Tuesday evening as Solskjaer is likely to rest key players for the game against Liverpool on Thursday. Harry Maguire would miss out anyway but expect starts for fringe players like Donny Van De Beek, Alex Telles, Nemanja Matic and Juan Mata.
Leicester slipped up again at home against Newcastle in a wild game at the King Power on Saturday. Their position in the top four is coming under serious threat with Liverpool creeping up on them. Brendan Rodgers will see this as a potential three points with key men likely to be rested for the hosts. Defensively though they looked terrible at the weekend and will be without former United man Johnny Evans at centre half.
All things considered, a goal heavy game could be on the cards. The United players drafted in will be keen to impress and they’ve seen Over 2.5 Goals in 63% of home league games this season.
Leicester have plenty of attacking threats as well but their backline has looked somewhat compromised without a clean sheet in their last three, against Southampton, Palace and Newcastle. The Foxes have seen overs cop in 60% of their league games.
Over 2.5 Goals has been chalked up at 21/20 and odds-against just looks to big to ignore at Old Trafford.
