The form of these two sides could not be more contrasting: City have won 23 of their last 24 matches, while Monchengladbach have lost seven of their last eight matches, with the other being a goalless draw.

The first leg of this tie was a fairly dour affair, with just five shots on target and 12 shots in all as City ran out comfortable winners by two goals to nil.

I would not be at all surprised if we saw the same scoreline here and given that I generally avoid player markets where City are concerned (because of the volume of rotation at present), I will have a correct score dart at 2-0, which is 6/1 with BetVictor.

It has obliged in four of City’s last 24 matches and given the form of their opponents and the fact they only managed three shots in the ‘home’ fixture, I doubt they will cause City too many problems.

In addition to this, I like the look of a City win and Under 3.5 Goals. This has obliged in 13 of City’s last 24 matches and five of Monchengladbach’s last seven losses have seen three goals or fewer.

I did consider Phil Foden (17/10), Ferran Torres (3/1) and Bernardo Silva (4/1) in the anytime goalscorer markets but there isn’t a single midfielder or forward in the City ranks that I am 90% confident will appear for this game so I will stick with the two picks this week.

Best Bets

Manchester City vs Borussia Monchengladbach – Manchester City to win and Under 3.5 Goals (11/10 Paddy Power)

Manchester City vs Borussia Monchengladbach – Manchester City to win 2-0 (6/1 BetVictor)
