Liverpool's title challenge ended months ago and a top four spot looks fanciful at present, with Jurgen Klopp's side in seventh place, four points behind Chelsea who defeated them on Thursday night.

Liverpool have had dreadful luck with injuries at the back this season but it is in front of goal that they've really struggled at home recently. The reds have scored just once in their last five home matches (a penalty) and the fact that they've lost each of them tells you how difficult they find it to keep clean sheets at present.

Their opponents Fulham are a much tougher prospect than they were at the start of the season but Scott Parker's outfit really struggle to score themselves. They've only conceded 33 in 27 games this term (two fewer than Liverpool) but only found the net on 21 occasions themselves. That is almost 10 fewer than their expected amount so while they are creating a reasonable about, they are not putting the ball in the net often enough.

My angle here is under 2.5 goals. It has obliged in each of Fulham's last seven games, Liverpool's last four in all competitions and in six of their last seven at Anfield.

It is 18 league matches since Fulham last conceded three goals or more so I do not expect a Liverpool side devoid of confidence to create a huge amount. Under 2.5 goals is 11/10 with Bet365 which looks perfectly expectable to me.

Elsewhere I wouldn't put anyone off backing the 1-1 scoreline or Liverpool to win by a single goal but I will keep it simple and just go with the one play this week.
