Lorient v Marseille | Tuesday 18.00 | BT Sport 2
Marseille may have lost their last three competitive away games but should be trusted at 10/11 (Coral) to get the better of Lorient. Marcelo Bielsa’s men were beaten on trips to PSG and Lyon recently but Tuesday’s hosts don’t possess the same quality and can be overrun by Bielsa’s high-tempo team.
L’OM have scored at least twice in all bar two of their 12 Ligue 1 matches since Bielsa took charge whilst Lorient have only followed suit in just one of their seven games on the artificial surface at Stade du Moustoir.
The hosts have netted just twice in five outings at home and although they’ve recorded morale-boosting back-to-back victories, a visit from the table-toppers is likely to be a step too far for Lorient.
What’s more, Les Merlus have lost their last three to Marseille, failing to score in all three defeats.
Monaco v Lens | Tuesday 20.00 | ESPN
We were bang on the money at the weekend after recommending Rennes as a solid Draw No Bet option against Monaco. They promptly dispatched the principality club to make it just two wins in nine for last season’s runners-up.
At their Stade Louis II home, Monaco have only won twice this campaign and therefore should be avoided like the plague at 4/9 quotes, even if lowly Lens are the visitors.
Lens have lost four of their previous five on the road but have managed to net in all bar three of their eight away games this term, including at Marseille and Lyon. They’ve also notched in all four games against top-four opposition since winning promotion.
With Monaco netting in 23/24 home Ligue 1 matches and keeping just two home clean sheets from seven outings in 2014/15, Both Teams To Score looks a touch on the high side at 13/10.
