LA LIGA continues its return on Monday night as Levante and Sevilla lock horns.  Jack Wright (@bet_shop_boys ) is on-hand to preview the match-up .

Levante v Sevilla | Monday 15th June 2020, 18:30 | La Liga TV

La Liga is officially back! The first round of games were completed at close to 11pm on Sunday night and we barely have enough time to say “una cerveza por favor” before we are back in the thick of the action. Isn’t it GREAT!?

Levante versus Sevilla kicks-off the next matchday, Both sides had derby games to navigate on their return to action, Sevilla were fairly comfortable in beating Betis, whereas Levante showed great resilience to bounce back from conceding the first goal of the game in the 89th minute only to rescue a well-deserved point agains Valencia deep into injury time.

On that showing Levante will be no pushovers for third-placed Los Palanganas who will be looking to cement their place in the Champions League places but with no hope of catching the top two.

The first thing to note about this game is that it will not be played at Estadi Ciutat de València and instead on neutral territory of La Nucia in Alicante – therefore making Los Granotas home form largely irrelevant.

Let’s firstly focus on Sevilla, who have something of a hold over Monday's opposition in their latest encounters – they have won the last four head-to-heads in all competitions, being level at half time in their most recent three before going on to claim victory. The visitors are also currently in good scoring form, netting twice or more goals in the last five league games.

On to Levante and one thing we do know about them is that home or away they are fond of a corner, with virtually identical records wherever they are playing – averaging 5.08 on home soil and 5.13 away. With both sides in the top four overall for corners won we should expect a few flag kicks at either end in this one.

Monday's referee is senor Alejandro José Hernández Hernández who has shown 79 yellow and three red cards in his 14 La Liga outings for an average of 5.86 cards per-game – his last match was back in March where coincidentally he was in charge of Sevilla’s trip to Atletico Madrid. It wasn’t a quiet day at the office for him, booking six (four Sevilla players) and giving two penalties.

Hernández Hernández has actually officiated three other Sevilla games in total this season and shown a further 12 cards – four v Granada, three v Betis and five v Alaves – while they average 3.07 per game when playing away.

For Monday's selection, I'll be combining three angles: Over 1.5 Goals, Levante Over 3.5 Corners and Sevilla Over 2.5 Cards (2/1 BetVictor).

Having had a passion for football for as long as I can remember – I’m talking Shoot League Ladders here – one of my first “bets” is still my biggest win. After begging my mum to let me fill in her pools coupon so I could show off my knowledge, eight draws later and a cheque for £11,500 was soon in the post. As a Norwich fan it’s important to have a good grasp of what’s going on in the lower leagues and I also like exploring those less popular leagues to have a delve into any stats-based markets that are available. Right now, I’m particularly enjoying player bets. Outside of sport, I love eating and drinking - maybe a little too much - as well as listening to a varied spectrum of music, both from the comfort of my own home and at festivals.
