Horse Racing: Altior to excel in mouthwatering Ascot card

0

HORSE RACING expert Jake Russell (@JakeRuss1000) shares his favourite fancies from Saturday's top-class action from Ascot.

12:20 Saturday | Ascot

Redford Road  (11/4 Bet365) is unbeaten this season with one very good performance over hurdles after the two cracking display in a bumpers.

He shown great attitude in his last race after pretty much making all, staying on very well in the final stages, suggesting these extra few furlongs or so will do this horse wonders.

12:55 Saturday | Ascot

Erick Le Rouge (16/1 Bet365) is a horse that took very well to the bigger obstacles when winning his first start in a Class 3 at Uttoxeter in October. He had very good hurdle form last season winning four races in a row.

He finished a remote fifth last time out but that was quite a hot race, so is here, but with the step up in trip and Chester William's claiming 5lb he should be there or thereabouts and get back to winning ways.

1:30 Saturday | Ascot

Oscar Rose (4/1 Bet365) was a very good winner last time out, winning by six lengths at Southwell. She has a 7lb rise here, however, the talented Connor Brace takes off a valuable 3lb, making the rise in weights easier to deal with.

If she can take to the step up in trip then she will be very hard to beat again.

2:05 Saturday | Ascot

There's nothing much more to say about Altior (8/15 888).  He's currently at an unbeaten 19 races and winner of 10 Grade 1's in that time. I'm very confident he will take to the step up in trip as it's something he has shown will suit.

Cyrname is a worthy opponent and he loves Ascot, but the talent Altior has in his locker will make him very hard to beat. I'm really looking forward to this and so are the rest of the racing world.

2:40 Saturday | Ascot

Call Me Lord (5/2 Betfred) was a Grade 2 winner last year at Sandown, and was last seen finishing third in the Grade 3 Imperial Cup at Sandwon in March. He loves this trip and ground is very much in his favour so this will make him very hard to beat.

The in-form Nico takes the ride hopefully high in confidence after the hose job Altior will produce the race before.

3:20 Saturday | Ascot

Capeland (4/1 Unibet) is a horse that was very unlucky last time out after the drama at Ascot over the final fence. He looked like the  winner in that race in my opinion after travelling very well.

He races off the same mark here and if he runs like he did last time out he will be incredibly hard to beat, with the young Harry Cobden booked.

3:50 Saturday | Ascot

Kid Commando (6/4 BetVictor) is a horse that could be something special for Anthony Honeyball after hacking up to a 18 length romp job on his rules debut at Fontwell last time out.

He looked very impressive that day and if he can replicate that performance he will certainly be the one to beat in this cracking bumper race. Even if he doesn't win he is one to keep an eye on for sure.
