Half-Time Full Time: Take Orient’s struggle to chug on, says Russ Butterworth

CORNER KING Russ Butterworth (@cornerkicktips) has spotted a Football League bet he can't resist this weekend.

Blackpool v Leyton Orient | Saturday 17:30

Blackpool are a best price 2/9 to beat Leyton Orient at the weekend, which isn’t too surprising given their need to win and the away teams' problems both on and off the field.

The visitors have lost four of their last five away games and significant to the angle I’m looking at here, trailed at the break in all five games conceding an eye watering 10 first half goals in the process.

Blackpool just need to win this one to secure their play off place but I don’t think that will have a negative impact on how they approach the match.

Quick out the blocks

They were quick out the blocks in their last home game against Cheltenham – two up at the break, comfortable 3-0 winners at full-time and they have led at HT in 4/8 homes, scoring a FHG in 6/8.

It is some achievement that Orient have now conceded a first half goal in 12 consecutive matches and Blackpool will surely be looking to exploit this weakness by attacking from the first whistle.

Over their last 12 games both home and away, backing Orients’ opponents to win HT/FT would have netted 10 winners and the market has Blackpool at around the 4/7 mark suggesting an implied probability of around 55% – not bad at all, but both Ladbrokes and Coral have priced this up at what looks a decent price of 4/5 and is well worth a punt.

Best Bets

Blackpool v Leyton Orient – Blackpool HT/FT (10/11 Ladbrokes)
