MONDAY night’s La Liga game features Getafe and Celta Vigo with Mark O’Haire (@MarkOHaire) looking for the value bet.

Getafe v Celta Vigo | Monday 19.45

Cast your mind back to the 1st November. Celta Vigo had just shocked Barcelona by beating the Catalans 1-0 at the Camp Nou to move into sixth place in La Liga and just three points adrift of defending champions Atletico Madrid and Barca.

Move forward seven days and the Sky Blues failed to build on that magnificent victory as they were held by Granada on home soil. It was the beginning of a horrendous run for Eduardo Berizzo’s men that shows no sign of stopping soon.

Since that Barcelona win, Celta have picked up two points from a possible 27, scoring just one goal. They’re now sitting just five points above the dreaded drop zone and 26 behind Barca ahead of their visit to Madrid on Monday night.

Having held Valencia in their last match in Vigo, pundits were suggesting Celta could be about to find their feet. But a tame 1-0 defeat at Espanyol last time out means Berizzo’s team have lost five on the bounce away from home, without scoring a goal. So it’s almost impossible to find an angle to be with Celta.

Their hosts Getafe have failed to record a victory of their own since the day before Celta’s Barcelona win but on home soil, they can be a tough cookie to crack. Although they come into this game off the back of defeats to Villarreal and Real Madrid, the hosts have managed two wins and a 0-0 stalemate with Barcelona in their last five competitive home matches.

There’s encouragement enough to believe Bet365’s 17/20 on Getafe +0.25 could be worth an interest but instead I’m going to take a chance on backing ‘No’ in the Both Teams To Score column. It’s proved a winner in 7/10 of the capital clubs fixtures at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez as well as in 11 of Celta’s last 14 league games and can be backed at 20/23 with BetVictor

I agree think only the one side will score but I’ve got a feeling about Celta. Going to back them to win to nil at 3/1.
