CORNER KING Russ Butterworth (@cornerkicktips) has spotted some early value in Saturday's Football League and was keen to share all.
Fleetwood v Bristol Rovers | Saturday 15:00
Bristol Rovers thrashed Northampton 5-0 at the weekend extending their winning run at home to four games, in which they've scored 15 goals.
All very impressive. But on the road it's been a different story – a decent start to the season has since tailed off badly and the Gas have now lost their last 4 away fixtures at not particularly strong home teams, conceding 13 goals in the process.
Fleetwood are in the play-off places on the back of their home form where they have won 8/13 and six of their last seven, averaging 1.70 goals for and just 0.43 against. While these Fleetwood matches have mostly been against poor away teams, on current away form, Rovers are firmly in that bracket.
Sure, the big home win at the weekend should give the visitors confidence going into this game but recent form suggests that decent home wins are swiftly followed by disappointing away defeats.
Fleetwood are now unbeaten in six overall in League One and come into the game on the back of a decent draw at Bristol City in the FA Cup. Their home form is their bread and butter and this will certainly be a game they will be going all out to win.
The bookies have these pretty much neck and neck in the betting, but I'm not convinced they haven’t factored in the relative home and away form of the two clubs.
The early bird best price of 33/20 (Marathon) looks full of value on the home win and I'd be surprised if come kick-off, Fleetwood aren't a somewhat shorter.
Best Bets
