SCOTTISH football aficionado Gerry Taylor (@thefurlongpole) shares his verdict on Thursday night's Europa League MD4 action involving Scottish clubs.

Ferencvaros vs Celtic | Thursday 4th November 2021, 20:00 | BT Sport

It’s very much last chance saloon for the hosts here in Group G of the Europa League.

Sitting with no points, the hosts need to come out and give it a real go in front of their own fans in the Groupama Arena.

Celtic defeated the Hungarians comfortably last time out in Glasgow, winning 2-0, a result that flattered Peter Stoger’s charges. The Tic realistically need to win here too, if they’ve any aspirations of mixing it in this group with Betis and Leverkusen.

The Hoops Europa League away trips usually bear fruit for goals backers. Their last six read:

  • Lille 2 Celtic 2
  • Sparta Prague 4 Celtic 1
  • AC Milan 4 Celtic 2
  • Jablonec 2 Celtic 4
  • AZ 2 Celtic 1
  • Real Betis 4 Celtic 3

Ange Postecoglou also has a new injury, with defender Carl Starfelt ruled out. So, with Ferencvaros having scored against both Bayer Leverkusen and Real Betis, you’d think with them having to gamble a bit, that they can get amongst the goals here.

With Celtic being very attacking under the Aussie, I quite like the both teams to score and over 2.5 goals angle for this. It’s priced at 11/10 with Bet 365.

Brondby vs Rangers | Thursday 4th November 2021, 17:45 | BT Sport

The Gers sprung back to life at the weekend, with a 6-1 victory at Motherwell. Steven Gerrard’s men were ruthless and showed form that hasn’t really been seen from them, since last season.

It’s the crucial fourth round of fixtures in Europa League Group A. The boys from Verstegnen looked poor at Ibrox, suffering a 2-0 defeat. Niels Frederiksen’s charges will need to improve a fair bit on that tepid performance in Govan.

The Teddy Bears will be going all out here for the three points, as that would put qualification back in their own hands. So, on the presumption Rangers are running back into decent form, they perhaps are worth backing to beat an ordinary Brondby outfit, at 22/23 with SBK.

Best Bets

Ferencvaros vs Celtic – Over 2.5 Goals and Both Teams To Score (11/10 (Bet365)

Brondby vs Rangers – Rangers to win (22/23 SBK)
