Europa League – Four Plays For The Last 16

ONE of our new writers Ross Casey (@RossCasey24) found another winner for us in midweek. Here’s his favourite fancies from Thursday’s Europa League action.

Atletico Madrid v Lokomotiv Moscow | Thursday 8th March 2018, 18:00 | BT Sport

It is safe to say that Atletico Madrid will want to try and put this tie to bed tonight as a second leg in Russia could well prove tricky. For that reason, I will be looking at the goal markets and with French international striker Antoine Griezmann in white hot form he looks value at evens to score with Winner.

He has netted 12 goals in his last 10 games and will be expected to spearhead an attack against Moscow – who have won each of their last six on the road!

Dortmund v Red Bull Salzburg  | Thursday 8th March 2018, 18:00 | BT Sport

Dortmund have improved under Peter Stoger that is for sure, but they still have weaknesses to their game. With away goals so crucial in these ties, I expect Salzburg to be desperate to get one and against this Dortmund defence and in particular their shaky looking goalkeeper, Roman Burki, I expect them to get it.

Stoger's side have kept just two clean sheets in their last nine matches in all competitions, whilst Salzburg have netted in four of their five Europa League away games this season including two at Sociedad in the last round. Back both teams to score with best odds of 3/4 with 188 Bet.

Lazio v Dynamo Kiev  | Thursday 8th March 2018, 20:05 | BT Sport

Lazio have lost momentum of late winning just three of their last 10 matches. The goals have dried up in recent matches too, with the blue side of Rome failing to score against both Milan and Juventus in their last two games.

Dynamo Kiev will be hoping to keep things tight in this first leg to take a good result back to the Ukraine and considering both sides have seen games with three or less goals in four of their last six respective matches, I fancy a low scoring contest at the Stadio Olimpico tonight. Back under 2.5 goals with best odds of 6/5 with 188 Bet.

Red Bull Leipzig v Zenit  | Thursday 8th March 2018, 20:05 | BT Sport

Red Bull Leipzig are a fascinating team to watch. Full of energy, skill and power, but often they look goal shy when it really matters and fail to be the sum of their parts. They actually remind me of Croatia in that they are a few players from being a truly quality side.

The Bundesliga side arrive into this tie against Zenit in some shaky form and considering the Russian side arrive knowing they have lost just two of their 16 away matches this season, I believe that Leipzig are worth taking on here.

Leipzig have won just four of their last 15 games in all competitions and Zenit look value at 23/20 with BetVictor in the double chance market.

Atletico Madrid v Lokomotiv Moscow – Antoine Griezmann Anytime (10/11 Winner)
