Europa League: Christie can carry Celts through

SCOTTISH football expert Mr Fixit (@MrFixitTips) previews Thursday night's Europa League qualifying contests featuring Celtic and Rangers.

Europa League | Thursday 29th August 2019

It could be a tale of away goals as the Old Firm eye spots in the Europa League group stage. One for Celtic should clinch victory over AIK while Rangers are desperate to avoid giving one away against Legia Warsaw.

I reckon Neil Lennon's men have done enough after winning 2-0 at home and should net against the tough but limited Swedes who aren't as forward-thinking as Champions League conquerers Cluj.

Celtic are no bigger than 1/25 to qualify and just 2/7 at BetVictor to bag that crucial away strike. They don't need to beat the Swedes again though and this could be a draw at 12/5 with Coral – a scoring one pays 15/4.

I tipped James Forrest to score first in the home leg and this time I'm backing Ryan Christie to get back on the goal trail after a couple of blanks. He is 9/1 at Unibet to break the deadlock and 4/1 to net.

Rangers face a much tougher task against the tight Poles who haven't conceded in six matches before beating Lodz 5-2 at the weekend.

Steven Gerrard wants the crowd to rock Ibrox and push his side over the line but it could be a nervy night. The Scots are no bigger than 1/2 at Coral to win and I'm backing them to get there but they'll need to work hard if they concede.

To win ‘to nil' Rangers are 21/20 at BetVictor and to win with both scoring it's 7/2 with bet365. Alfredo Morelos missed his side's one clear chance in Warsaw and is 3/1 to make amends with the opener.

Best Bets

AIK Stockholm v Celtic – Ryan Christie to score at anytime (4/1 Unibet)
