With the Cowboys having already secured the #1 seed in the NFC, we now get to ponder whether they will rest players or not and that’s not great from a betting point of view.

Dallas owner Jerry Jones has strongly hinted they won’t rest starters, but it’s not something I’d like to put my faith in. RB Ezekiel Elliot, who is chasing the rookie rushing record, is the only player I’d consider.

Instead of looking at Dallas, I’ll be looking at Detroit who are still fighting for a play-off spot. Defensively, they’re missing some players, but I believe they have the tools to go after the Cowboys in the passing game.

WR Golden Tate has caught my eye of late and I’ll be backing him to go Over 66.5 receiving yards at 10/11 (SkyBet).

Tate has been a bit inconsistent this season, having huge games one week and then disappearing the next. Lately however, he’s been getting on a bit of roll and has averaged 108.3 yards a game over the last three games.

Not only this, but he’s received double-digit targets in each of these games (34 in total, catching 22).

This week he’ll be up against a Dallas secondary that has been weak against the pass this season and will be without CB Morris Claiborne once again.

They are giving up 264.7 yards a game through the air and have allowed the second-most receptions to WRs (209).

Given Detroit’s struggles in the run game and Dallas’ weakness against the pass, Tate should continue to see a lot of targets and really should be crossing the 66.5 mark if he receives double-digit targets again.
